a good idea, but...
I thought it's a great idea... too bad my baby doesn't really care about this item! He is 14 months old and his molars are coming... he chews on anything but not this teethefier :-(
Great for any teething child
My kids have never been pacifier kids and they didn't take to any normal teethers. We found vibrating star teethers that they liked but that only worked for the front teeth. When my son was teething and cutting his molars nothing seemed to reach the right part of his gums. My daughter took teething a lot harder. So when she started cutting molars I really needed to find a better teether for the back gums.
I was shopping on amazon for various other things when I came across this very different looking teether. I was a little leary of it because it looks so much like a pacifier and I didn't want the kids to decide they wanted a pacifier after getting them past a year old barely ever using a pacifier. I decided to try it anyways. My kids are 1 and a half and 2 and a half years old(younger of the 2 is my daughter). They love these teethers. They seem to be very sturdy and not likely to break up or crack like some similar looking types of rubber might.
They don't seem to be overusing the teether but everytime they find it mixed with their toys they put in their mouth. A couple times my daughter was crying and chewing on this seemed help ease her pain a little. A couple other times it calmed her down until I could get her some tylenol or orajel. My son just likes it because he sees my daughter with it. He has a couple more teeth to cut so I hope this will help when those start coming through. So far it seems durable enough even for him.
Excellent Teether for Babies of All Ages
Our baby had his first teeth push through at 16 weeks of age. He was desperately in need of things to chew on that he could hold with his tiny little hands. The Teethifier is perfect because he can bite down on both sides of his mouth and it is the only teether that can reach back to his rear gums without the risk of him pushing it too far in. He can hold the tiny ring, or we can clip it onto his other rings on the baby gym. He loves the texture and feel of this item. A great purchase that I am sure he will use for months to come.
